D1.2 Ethics Requirements

The ethics management of the MultiMiner project, led by GTK as part of WP1's Task 1.5, ensures adherence to the highest ethical standards by applying EU and international research integrity guidelines, advising partners on ethical matters, and conducting periodic ethics checks, while maintaining compliance with evolving legislation and policies. The project is "ethics ready," with no additional requirements identified, and this deliverable outlines its ethical framework and management guidelines.

D1.3 Progress Report

This deliverable will cover the MultiMiner project’s progress from January to December 2023, focusing on scalable and automated mineral exploration tools, EO data analysis, and monitoring methods for mining. Key achievements include a working prototype of the mineral mapping algorithm in WP2, a first version of the Generic Mine Site Monitoring (GMSM) algorithm in WP3, initial field and lab activities across European test sites in WP4, and the launch of communication channels and strategy in WP5. These efforts support the overarching goals of advancing mineral exploration, minimizing environmental impacts, and fostering innovation within the European mining sector.

D2.1 Report on spectral data base structure and open access demonstrator

This deliverable will cover the development of a scalable spectral database and an open-access GUI tool designed for mineral exploration. It includes tools and workflows for analysing and classifying remote sensing data, leveraging expert knowledge, machine learning, and harmonised data from sources such as the USGS spectral library and project-specific measurements to create reproducible mineral mapping products.

D3.1 Timely mine site monitoring algorithms design and input data requirements

This deliverable will cover the design of algorithms and input data requirements for timely mine site monitoring, as part of MultiMiner Work Package 3. It outlines the initial phase of algorithm development across thematic applications such as vegetation, water quality, ground moisture, tailings storage, dam and pit stability, and dust monitoring. The report details selected Earth Observation imagery requirements, reference data needs, and algorithm design for each monitoring application, including a prototype Generic Mine Site Monitoring (GMSM) algorithm that integrates diverse EO data sources while preserving their spectral, spatial, and temporal resolution.

D4.1 Field Guidebook

The field guidebook is a contribution of MultiMiner Task 4.1: In Situ data standardisation and databases to Deliverable D4.1: “Field work protocols for in-situ data collection and review of accuracy assessment methods. Description of the data collection standards and protocols to be used in accuracy assessment of the multi-scale and multi-source data products and test site specific ground truth activities.”

D5.1 Communication, Dissemination, and Exploitation Strategy

This strategy defines how to maximise MultiMiner's impact by raising awareness, engaging stakeholders, and promoting the project's outputs across Europe and beyond. It outlines goals, target groups, a multichannel approach, promotional materials, and the project website. It also details partners' roles in dissemination and adapts dynamically throughout the project to ensure broad scientific and societal impact.

D5.4 Data Management Plan

The MultiMiner project emphasises robust data management practices to ensure efficient handling of large, diverse datasets from various sources and scales. The Data Management Plan (DMP) outlines how data, software, and algorithms are stored, shared, and preserved, prioritising openness, interoperability, and adherence to ethical and legal standards such as GDPR. All data are documented with detailed metadata, shared openly using repositories like Zenodo and GitHub, and licensed to maximise reusability, unless restricted by legitimate interests. The DMP is treated as a living document, updated as needed, with all partners responsible for adhering to its principles and allocating resources for its implementation.
